An American Jacket in Paris

No two species of iconic American outerwear mate quite so well as the bomber and the varsity letter. One particularly fine specimen can be found in the window of Blackrainbow scarpe nike, a boutique at 68 rue des Archive, in Paris. It has existed online and within the department store Citadium for four years, and this past January opened its first stand-alone shop. In addition to a well-edited selection of street-wear brands like Stüssy scarpe nike, Wood Wood, Woolrich, Barbour and Supra, Blackrainbow produces a small in-house label that includes a yearly limited-edition leather jacket manufactured by hand in France. Blackrainbow, 68 rue des Archives, Paris; 011-33-1-44-549-754. Open Monday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This year’s iteration features leather arms, white side panels reminiscent of motocross styling and a suede body. It’s a unique piece in a world of leather jackets plagued by sameness.
